Thanks to Surf Life Saving Australia’s Major National Partner Westpac, the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter has debuted a new look today. The Sydney based Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter has made some changes to the classic red and yellow, with a vibrant splash of blue in support of the NSW Blues and the NSW Sky Blues State of Origin teams.
Raising the stakes of the State of Origin games, Westpac will donate $5,000 for every try scored by New South Wales in both the men’s and women’s 2024 State of Origin series to assist the helicopter rescue services in New South Wales with their essential rescue and lifesaving work.
Shane Daw, General Manager Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service says the support for the helicopters is a whole new reason to get excited about State of Origin.
“State of Origin games are always incredibly exciting but even more so now that vital funding for our Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopters can receive a boost.
“Our helicopter service is proudly supported by our major national partner, Westpac. The helicopter crew and i will be cheering on the NSW Blues and NSW Sky Blues to score as many trys as possible to help fund our Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopters. It’s thanks to initiatives like these that more than 100,000 missions performed over 50 years, and no one has ever had to pay to be rescued or assisted.”
