The Westpac Life Saver Helicopter’s Greater Souther Region Service is a strong advocate of education and safety awareness for children and the general public. In 2014, Westpac initiated a national education program to further improve awareness and understanding of the rescue service in schools all over Australia.
Students and teachers are invited to nominate their school be part of the program and if suitable, may have the rare opportunity to view their local rescue aircraft up close, see inside the cockpit and cabin, learn how a rescue is performed by our rescue crewmen and pilots, and have photos taken of their class group in front of the helicopter. If your school is based in Sydney, The Central Coast or on the NSW South Coast, we encourage you to get a teacher to register to be part of the program, which takes place annually.
