Windsurfer in distress, Kurnell

Shortly before 1900 hours, the Westpac Life Saver was notified by NSW Police and the Surf Lifesaving State Operations Centre, that a windsurfer was in distress off Kurnell, near the entrance to Botany Bay.   Lifesaver 1 was on the scene within four minutes of receiving the call, arriving at the same time as a Water Police vessel.  The windsurfer and his equipment was rescued, safe and well, by Water Police.
