Surfer in trouble at last light, Coogee

Shortly before 2045 hours, Sydney's Westpac Life Saver was contacted by the Surf Life Saving State Operations Centre after a Triple 0 call to police suggested that a surfer was stranded on Wedding Cake Island, off Coogee.  On arriving on the scene, Lifesaver 1 located the the surfer paddling back to shore.  The helicopter remained in the area until local police confirmed that he was safe and well and back on the beach.
