Shark Patrol, Central Coast

At the request of Surf Life Saving NSW, Lifesaver 1 flew to the Central Coast this morning at 0630 hours.  There had been reports that a man had been bitten by a shark at North Avoca last night.   Upon its arrival in the area, Lifesaver 1 checked all beaches to the north and south of the incident location and observed a number of schools of bait fish.   Several of these schools had sharks following them.

The locations and other information had been passed to the Surf Life Saving State Operations Centre and the Department of Primary Industries.
