Search for missing swimmer, The Entrance
05 February 2012
With Sydney's Westpac Life Saver in Moree to assist with the floods, Lifesaver 3 was tasked by police to attend at The Entrance on the Central Coast late in the afternoon. Numerous witnesses reported that a 15 year old boy had been caught in a rip and was now missing.
An extensive air, land and sea search was conducted that evening and at first light the following morning, with the helicopter joining local police, Water Police, volunteer surf lifesavers and Council Lifeguards. Lifesaver 1 also conducted an extensive search later in the afternoon of Monday, 6th February after it had returned from the floods. Sadly nothing was found.
