Police operation, La Perouse

Mid afternoon today, several girls were walking across the top of cliffs at La Perouse when they noticed a car submerged in the water below them.  They contacted police who arrived a short time later with Westpac Life Saver staff.   After considering all options, it was agreed that our Rescue Crew Officer would be winched into the water with the assistance of the Maroubra Lifeguard Jet Ski.  

Our crewman dived down and was able to confirm that there was no person in the car.  He was also able to provide a detailed description of the car and police confirmed that it had been stolen earlier in the week.
