Missions
The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service, owned and operated by Surf Life Saving Australia, provides search and rescue services to the people of the Greater Sydney Region.
The Service is on call ready to perform a range of missions including:
- Water, rock and cliff rescues
- Searches over land and water
- Emergency beacon homing
- Ensuring coastal safety of swimmers, rock fisherman and marine vessels
- Assisting in flood and fire emergencies
- Carrying out shark patrols
The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service is a not-for-profit organisation. Despite delivering a vital community rescue service, it is a free Service with the sole mission to save lives.
The Service depends entirely on the generous support of the community and sponsors to remain flying.
